Replacing a Mechanical Insert Clock with a Quartz Insert fit up Clock..

I came across this great clock the other day.

It is made out of Qld Mulga wood and weighs over 3.7kgs.

It even has this marking on the back

.

Mulga is a really dense timber and quite sought after by woodoworkers.

But it didn't quite look like this because it had a very old rusty broken german mechanical insert fit up clock in it. (Pictured below).

As you can see the clock part is very rusty and it was non repairable.

I have removed the old mechanical movement and replaced it with a new quartz fit up clock - 85mm .

I'm always having customers wanting to purchase my display items and I'm sure that this will be no exception.

It does have a few small marks on the timber which I'm sure could be polished out if you wanted to use the original design.

Finally it looks even better if the new clock face is positioned on the reverse of the clock.

This clock is a great example of how easy it is to give new life to an old clock.
